Implant retained dentures are dentures that are supported by 2-6 strategically placed implants. As well as being a cost-effective and fixed solution to tooth loss, implant retained dentures can restore your chewing ability and improve your ability to taste food as there is less denture base.
As with other implants-base treatments, we will assess your suitability for implants, ensuring you have enough bone density to proceed. We can then take impressions of your teeth so that your custom dentures can be made up and worn once you have undergone your implant surgery. The implant will be surgically placed into your jawbone and left to fuse and become a permanent part of your body. The implant will fully fuse after approximately 6 months, after which your dentures can provide aesthetic and function.
Patients need a certain amount of jawbone to support dental implants. If we find you don’t have sufficient bone density, we can consider options for a bone graft.
Missing teeth can lead to several complications in the long term. Issues like jawbone loss can be addressed with dental implants, and your confidence can significantly improve when you feel great about the health and appearance of your smile.
Here at Cambridge St Dental & Implant Centre, we also offer patients the choice of All-on-Four, an implant retained dentures treatment.
